This might not make a big difference for all cardholders, but as someone who frequently uses rideshares while traveling, I think it is a great addition. While it would have been nice to see an increase in point earning on one of those two major categories, the card will now earn 10x Ultimate Reward points per $1 on all Lyft rides. The Chase Sapphire Reserve card will continue to earn 3x Ultimate Reward points per $1 on all travel and dining purchases, and Chase will continue to offer the most lenient travel category in the business including: airlines, hotels (including Airbnb), motels, timeshares, campgrounds, car rental agencies, cruise lines, travel agencies, discount travel sites, operators of passenger trains, buses, taxis, limousines, ferries, toll bridges and highways and parking lots and garages. Luckily none of the current benefits are being taken away with this refresh, which is not the case we’ve seen with other premium cards like the Citi Prestige. But with those benefits comes an increase of $100 to the annual fee – placing the new fee at $550.
